Omni

the cat you've been seeing all over the website is my fursona!! its name is Omni and it uses it/its exclusively. Omni isn't a "cat", technically, just a clump of sentient shadows shaped like one. it can shapeshift, but prefers to be a cat because it's cute.

basics

Omni is an agender gay aroace shapeshifter made of sentient shadows. it was alive since shadows could form, but it was capable only of seeing. it gained its extra abilities when living beings rolled around and it went "huh what if i did that". the process was hard, but eventually it reached the form it uses today.

science of shadow beings

Omni is made up of semi-tangible shadows, giving it a unique texture akin to the air pressure from a powerful hand dryer. it has a finite amount of shadow, ie. if it wants longer arms it might have to give up having a tail. Omni is extremely sensitive to direct light and can't stay in it for too long. when upset, it involuntarily starts to fade away and disappear, leaving only its scarf behind.

its mental abilities depend on how much it's "formed." when it's in the form of a complete cat (or any other thing), it functions perfectly fine, but when it's fully dissipated, it can't do much beyond observing its surroundings.

physical quirks

Omni doesn't blink and tends to stare rather intently, whether it be at a wall or a person. it also lacks a mouth, as it doesn't require one for conventional functions like eating or speaking; instead, it communicates through telepathy. expressions are conveyed solely through its eyes and body language.

it lacks biological functions such as bleeding, peeing, breathing, or eating. however, it enjoys the concept of napping and "sleeps" by entering a deep meditative state, doing this purely for fun.

Omni's technically immortal, and isn't affected by things like stabbing, choking, or poisoning. aging doesn't affect it either; the closest one can come to harming Omni is by exposing it to intense light, causing it to temporarily dissipate.

being only partially physical presents challenges when handling objects, as it must concentrate to prevent items from passing through its paws. additionally, its vision is somewhat darker and blurrier than the norm.
